Seminar of the School of Specialisation in Archaeological Heritage in Naples
Dr. Stefano Iavarone, official of the Soprintendenza Archeologia, Belle Arti e Paesaggio (SABAP) for the Municipality of Naples, through the account of the most significant investigations and discoveries, will offer an in-depth look at the historical stratifications of the city, analysing the urban transformations, with particular attention to the transformation and use of the Neapolis wall circuit. Thanks to the focus on the area of the church of San Domenico Maggiore, issues related to the evolution of the city’s fabric, the interactions between archaeology and modernity, and the protection of cultural heritage in a context of continuous change will be addressed.
